In accordance with the applicable rules and regulations of the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, Division of Water Pollution Control, the Brownsville Energy Authority has established an Industrial Pretreatment Program that regulates the industrial wastewater discharged into the Brownville Energy Authorityís municipal wastewater collection and treatment system.
Incidents of significant non-compliance to these regulations were recorded for the following industries for the twelve-month period beginning August 1, 2017 and ending July 31, 2018.
Teknor Apex (Plastics) was in significant non-compliance with their Industrial Wastewater Discharge Permit during August/September 2017 for exceeding the discharge limitation for the pollutant Bis(2-ethylhexyl) Phthalate (DEHP). After voluntary modifications, Teknor Apex (Plastics) is now in compliance with their Industrial Wastewater Discharge Permit.
Brownsville Energy Authority
